Imagine Sun Ra & Albert Ayler leading a marching band on to the set of 1970's cult horror flick 'The Wicker Man' and you might start getting close to the Tongues Of Fire sound! Composer and band leader Tim Hill expertly fuses American jazz and English folk traditions into a hypnotic brew of unstoppable rhythms and roaring brass. This is a joyous noise!

'Smokin Jo Crow' is a percussive ode to a giant apocalyptic bird, with hints of gris gris era Dr John. The flip side, 'Washerwoman's Brawl' is based on a traditional Elizabethan dance updated for a 7 piece jazz band!

We've produced an illustrated, 8 page booklet to accompany this 7", written by Tim Hill, explaining his wide range of influences, politics & philosophy behind this remarkable music. Limited to 300 copies only.
